Mahatma Gandhi

Mahatma Gandhi (1869–1948) was an Indian lawyer, anti-colonial nationalist, and 
political ethicist who led the successful campaign for India’s independence from British 
rule. Gandhi’s philosophy of non-violence and civil disobedience has inspired movements 
for civil rights and freedom across the world.
